Dear organisers, in order to optimally prepare you and your participants for the use of an innovative networking tool such as HyHyve, we have created a list of some preparatory measures as well as the most common issues for you.

1. Test the IT Infrastructure

Many companies, especially larger ones, have implemented very strict internet and network policies these days. Since innovative audio and video communication platforms were not widely used before the pandemic, not all IT departments are yet prepared to use such tools. For this reason, we recommend testing all important HyHyve functions in your company network (and possibly also in the home office) before your event.

1.1 Important Tests

The most important functions of HyHyve that you should test in your company network with your colleagues are:

• [ ] General movement on HyHyve: Do I see my colleagues in the room? (if your firewall is blocking HyHyve, you are always alone in the room and the chat shows you "Offline")
• [ ] HyHyve Bubble Conversations (small group conversations). You can also check the connection using the following test: [ https://networktest.twilio.com/ ]
• [ ] HyHyve Broadcast (if you’re planning on using it) → HyHyve Broadcast

1.2 Informations for your IT-Team

If you are unsure whether everything is running smoothly, you can also contact your IT department directly. You can provide them with the following information:

• Movement and navigation on HyHyve is done via websocket connections
• Small group conversations are provided via Twilio
• Broadcasting is done via Agora

Please note that HyHyve normally works with audio and video connections. If, for example, a VPN is used with a central internet breakout, this could lead to unusually high internet traffic.
