HyHyve uses Whereby as its integrated video technology. Within each Meeting Room or Broadcast, admins can use the Spotlight feature to highlight speakers and control how participants are displayed on screen.

🎯 What Is the Spotlight Feature?

The Spotlight feature allows admins to focus the attention of all participants on one or more speakers.

When a person is spotlighted:

• Their video tile becomes larger and centered for everyone in the room.
• All other participants appear smaller or in a secondary row.
• The view automatically updates for all attendees, no individual settings needed.

🧑‍💻 Who Can Use the Spotlight?

Only Space Admins and Meeting Hosts can set or remove a spotlight.

This ensures consistent presentation control and avoids visual chaos during larger events.

💡 Note: Spotlighting affects everyone in the room - once set, the spotlight view is shared across all participants’ screens.

⚙️ How to Spotlight a Speaker

1. Enter a Meeting Room or Broadcast Area where you have admin rights.
2. Hover over the participant’s video tile.
3. Click on the “Spotlight” icon or select “Set as Spotlight” from the menu.
4. The participant is now highlighted for everyone.

To remove the spotlight, simply click the same icon again or choose “Remove Spotlight”.
